Canadian Christian singer-songwriter Karah Matlyn is an exciting new and original voice in today's contemporary Christian music scene, crafting powerful songs that inspire hope & faith in our modern world.
Growing up in Southern Ontario, and coming from a family of singers and musicians, music was always a part of Karah's life. With early exposure to such eclectic genres as jazz, adult contemporary, pop and big band, Karah distilled a wide range of influences into her own unique style.
From age three, Karah was already singing and entertaining family and friends, going on to sing in school choirs, in church and in high-school music productions.
While still in school, she began to write original lyrics and music, eventually going on to study and develop her voice at the Bel Canto School of Music, where she studied vocal performance for two years.
Karah came to a personal relationship with Christ in her adult years, and this made a profound impact upon her own music - her songs deal with issues of faith, life, trials and the hope of Christ in the midst of it all.
In May 2010, Karah released her debut CD Come So Far, which features nine tracks of Contemporary Christian AC Pop, showing a mature musical style, heartfelt lyrics and an original artistic voice. Come So Far was nominated for "Inspirational Album of the Year" at the 2010 Canadian Covenant Awards.
As a contemporary Christian artist, Karah wants her songs to speak to peoples' hearts, to encourage their faith and celebrate God's goodness.
